The iXS European Downhill Cup begins the second leg on 21/22 May, when the European series visits Todtnau/GER. The event will see one of Germany’s best-known venues return to the international Downhill stage.

Todtnau Bike Park was opened in 1997 and has been the venue for well-known races such as the Maxxis Cup or the German Championship. After a long break the 2.7 km long course with a 300 m altitude difference will once again be hosting a race. The road gap; numerous drops and steps plus difficult root areas make it a genuine challenge and thus the perfect location for the most important series aside from the World Cup. 

The start list was filled quickly and, as expected, the competitors include many international top riders. After completing their first performance challenge – the kick-off race in Monte Tamaro – the bikers are now focusing on gaining points for the overall ranking list. The hot favourites will all be in the starting line-up, including winner of the first stage Markus Pekoll (AUT - MS Evil) and last season’s overall series winner Nick Beer (SUI - Scott 11). Further names worth mentioning are Joshua Button (AUS - SC Intense), Brook MacDonald (NZL - MS Evil), Luke Strobel (USA - MS Evil) or multiple German Champion Marcus Klausmann (GER - GHOST ATG), who is a serious contender for a podium spot here on his home course. The competition will also be fierce in the Elite Women category. Competitors will, for example, include reigning German Champion Harriet Rücknagel (GER - OnTheEdge); winner of the kick-off race Emilie Siegenthaler (SUI - Scott 11) and the Number 3 in the world ranking, Floriane Pugin (FRA - Scott 11).

It goes without saying that there will be more to see than just the race course. As usual there will be an exhibition area, including personal appearances by the Canfield Brothers and Chris Canfield from the USA. Teams such as Scott 11 or MS Evil will also be on site with their large team trucks, allowing visitors to take an interesting look behind the scenes too. An evening bash is, of course, also a must – this time it will be the SIXPACK RACING Riders Party on Friday.

The Bergwelt Südschwarzwald tourism association is assisting with race organisation and will be around to answer any tourism-related questions. And, last but least, please note that last-minute registrations at the venue will not be possible.
